Explorers children aged 7 - 11 years begin with an opening 'ice-breaker' activity and a time of teaching. They then move into small groups to take part in rotated activities which include Bible exploration, creative prayer, craft, and team games.

A Sunday group for children aged 7-11 years

Explorers meet in the large hall during the 10.30am morning service

Activities include:

• Welcoming 'ice breakers'
• Creative Bible teaching
• Craft
• Theme related games and team challenges
• Small group Bible exploration
• Prayer and sharing

The adventure begins in church where an Altogether Time at the beginning of the service sets the scene for the children's groups

Parents are encouraged to sit near the front of the church with or nearby their children during the Altogether Time before accompanying them to the registration desk

Registration takes place in the café area immediately after the Altogether Time. Parents will be issued with a 'Registered Child Card' for safekeeping and for return when collecting their child (with the exception of those in year 6 with parental consent to de-register themselves at the end of each session)

On Holy Communion Services (first Sunday of every month) registration begins at 10.25am and children start in their groups at 10.30am

Teaching Programme - Summer Term 2010

Teaching this term will run alongside the "Who do you think you are?" series. The programme covers 11 Old Testament characters from Jesus' family tree. Please join us in encouraging your child to become familiar with these particular Bible characters so the children really enjoy learning and contributing in our Sunday mornings over the next few weeks, as we discover God’s amazing faithfulness through all the generations!

Sponsor a Child

We encourage the children to save coins for an 8 year old girl in Ethiopia through Compassion UK. Chuchu Hanako lives with her mother who is a peasant farmer. Sponsorship enables her to participate in a church based programme to help her grow physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually. Money boxes are supplied (please ask) – coppers welcome! In 2009 the children raised £237 for Chuchu.
