Uganda 2011 - Christ Church
2nd - 18th July 2011

In July 2011, ten young people and five adults, predominantly from Christ Church, will be travelling to Uganda with Mission Direct to help rebuild and refit Kahengye Primary School in Rukungiri, Southern Uganda.

The school is currently a collection of very basic classrooms - all remain in a bad state of repair, some are mud and stick structures with damaged tin roofs.

Resources at the school are virtually non-existent. The teachers have a few textbooks but the children have none to speak of, desks are in short supply and there are no basic scholastic supplies of paper, exercise books and pencils. The children arrive at school barefoot and they come from very poor families.

We will spend most of our time building, but there are also opportunities to visit other projects and clinics and our last two days will be on safari.

We would value your prayers, for good health, safety and good relationships within the team and with our new Ugandan friends.

We look forward to bring back news once we're back.
