remembrance day, sagaol, tea & toys

Dear Christ Church,

Let me start by reminding you of the 2 services we have this Sunday:

At 10.30am our Morning Worship service will include 2 minutes silence at 11am as we remember those who have suffered and died in the service of their country.

And at 3pm we are holding a Service of Remembrance for the Life of a Loved One.  After the service there will be a chance to talk over a cup of tea or coffee and cake.  Please do come along.

For some years, Christ Church has been supporting Tearfund’s project in Sagaol. Nepal.  This webpage below tells the story of Laxmi Sunar, just one person our money has helped:

And finally a message from Jo Gavin, our Children’s Worker:

Tea & Toys led by Paula & Judith have been faithfully serving our community for many years reaching out to mums, dads and carers with their small children, the other week they were delighted to receive some wonderful feedback from a lady on Mumsnet:

I can't rate this group highly enough. We were welcomed so kindly by 4 lovely volunteers. The toys and books were clean and there were plenty to share. The group was structured and very well organised.
My children enjoyed the singing (and the biscuits!) and it was great for me to spend time with my friend knowing that our children were safe and happy. £1 for two hours for 2 children is incredible value too!

Well done ladies for all your hard work and commitment to building God’s Kingdom.

Many Thanks

Jo

Kind regards,
