New Here?

A Warm Welcome

If you are considering visiting a service at Christ Church we would love to meet you.
Whether you have been a Christian for many years, or aren’t yet sure what you believe, you are very welcome here.

What to Expect

When You Arrive
You will be welcomed at the door into a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. You won’t be handed any books on arrival and there is no dress code. Just come as you are.

Our Services
Services at Christ Church are informal and contemporary with modern songs and some older hymns. Our main service is at 10.30am. We sing together, hear a part of the Bible read aloud, and listen to a short talk which helps to explain what it means for us today. You can find out more about services at Christ Church here.

Holy Communion
On the first Sunday of the month all are invited to share Holy Communion (bread and wine) as part of the service. If you would like to take part but don’t want to receive bread and wine you can choose to receive a blessing instead. On other Sundays Holy Communion is available at our 9am or 6.30pm services.

Children and Youth
Children are a very welcome part of the church family. A creche and fun groups for children of all ages run during our 10.30am services. Find out more here.

Prayer Ministry
If you would like someone to pray for you about anything at all, our team are available every Sunday after the 10.30am service to listen and lift your concerns to God.

Refreshments
Refreshments are served in the cafe area after the service. Please do stay for a cuppa and help us get to know you better.

Get in Touch
Please introduce yourself to us on your first visit. We would love to meet you. And do get in touch with our vicar Rev Rob Powell, if you would like to know more about the church or he can be of help in any way.

Who We Are

Christ Church is a vibrant Church of England community on Charterhouse Road. Our congregation includes people of all ages, backgrounds and stages of faith who want to get to know Jesus better. We believe that having a personal relationship with God through Jesus is what life is all about and together we are learning what that means for our everyday lives.

We are an Evangelical church, which means two things. Firstly, we believe that the Bible is God’s written Word and has supreme authority in all matters of faith and life. And secondly, we are committed to doing all we can to enable others to come to know God through faith in Jesus.

Devoted to Christ. Dedicated to Community
