Prayer
Let’s pray together
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6
At Christ Church we firmly believe in the importance of individual, daily prayer to our relationship with God, and in the power of praying together to bring change to our lives, our community and the world. There are a number of opportunities to pray together throughout the month and we hope you will join us.
Receiving Prayer
Do you feel weighed down by sadness, worries or health concerns for yourself or someone else? Please don’t feel you have to carry your burden alone. We would love to pray for you. Members of our team are available in the side chapel at the front right of the church every Sunday after the 10.30am service to listen and lift your concerns to God who loves you and always hears when we pray to Him.
Praying Together
Weekly Prayer Meeting
Wednesdays 10am - 11am
(In the small hall)
We meet every Wednesday morning in term time to listen to what God is saying to us and to pray together for our church and community.
*On the first Wednesday of the month we share communion together.
Monthly on Saturdays 9am - 10am
(In the small hall)
On the first Saturday of each month we meet with members of other Orpington churches to pray together for our town.
Revival Prayer Meeting
Prayer Flag Project
Each month we pray collectively for different countries around the world, for the spread of the gospel and the challenges that Christians living in these countries face.
On the 3rd Sunday of the month in our 10.30am service, the children help to introduce the countries with flags, and Family News, our weekly newsletter, gives details of the countries with suggested prayers to use during each week.
Prayer Diary
A Prayer Diary is produced each year as a helpful way for our members to pray for one another and the life of the church. It lists families and ministries to pray for each day of the month. If you are a member of Christ Church and have not received a copy please contact Liesel Stanbridge.
